Matt got a Bachelor Degree in Engineering Acoustics and Vibration at the ISVR at Southampton University in 1990. Since then he has worked in Powertrain Noise and Vibration at Ricardo UK, becoming Technical Specialist in 2008.
He has led numerous NVH and sound quality engineering projects for a wide range of vehicles from motorcycles to trucks, for a wide range of clients in all parts of the world. Technical specialisms include intake and exhaust system development (including various types of sound generators), powertrain mounting system development, and engine structure development.
He has developed many engineering tools and techniques to support NVH and sound quality engineering, including time domain transfer path analysis, interactive subjective assessment, pass-by noise simulation and electronic sound generation.
